Office Location and Contact Information
1023 Kentucky St.
Lawrence, KS 66044
(785) 760-3952
Barbara@barbarajgilbertphd.com
The office is located in downtown Lawrence. Parking is usually available in the alley between Kentucky and Tennessee, right behind the 1023 building. If that small lot is full, there is always parking on the street. The building entrances at the alley and from Kentucky are open when I am on site. If you come in from the alley entrance, the waiting room is right there as you enter. If you come in the Kentucky street entrance, go straight to the door at the end of the short hall, which is the waiting room. Wait there and I will come get you at our scheduled time. For the confidentiality and privacy of other clients, please do not wait near my office door or knock on it. The office is fully accessible, with handicap ramps and parking in the alley lot.
Call me to set up an initial consultation. If you wish, you may instead complete the Contact Form below, which will be securely emailed to me and I will respond once I get it.

Fees
The fee for a 60-minute individual session is $185. I am on the Blue Cross/Blue Shield panel of providers. I will process insurance claims to other policies, but you should know that your co-pay may be higher for working with me than with providers on your insurance panel of providers.
For those with BCBS insurance, I collect only the copay/coinsurance/deductible from you and the insurance company pays the rest to me directly. For those with other insurance, I usually collect the full fee from you and then your insurance company reimburses you directly for all but the copay. In certain cases, I can collect just the expected copay and be paid directly by the insurance company--it just depends on the insurance. Contact your insurance company to find out how much your copay would be to work with me.
When paid to me directly, in most cases, the co-pay or full fee is due at the time of service or on a monthly billing basis. However, if needed, I offer interest-free financing in which we agree on a monthly amount you can afford and you pay that amount each month until the total balance is paid off. I accept cash, check, or credit/debit/health fund card payments or payments through Zelle.
Health care reimbursement accounts and tax deductions help make psychotherapy more affordable--talk to your employer about setting up such an account. University students may also be eligible for additional financial aid to cover the cost of psychological treatment as a medical expense. Talk to your financial aid office for more details.
