Clinical Consultation and Supervision
Dr. Gilbert has over 20 years' experience in providing clinical consultation and supervision. She designed pre-licensure training programs at two agencies, and was responsible for post-licensure continuing education at three agencies. She served as primary supervisor for 1 to 5 therapists-in-training per year for over 20 years. In addition, she provides clinical consultation for other licensed staff, on as-needed basis. Fees are negotiated depending on licensure status.
Under some circumstances, Clinical Consultation and Supervision can be counted towards licensure renewal requirements. Please ask if you are interested in this!
Continuing Education
Dr. Gilbert operates a continuing education company, in which she provides workshops on a variety of topics, including "Treating Power Dysfunctions in Anxiety and Depression", "Empowerment-Oriented Psychotherapy for Recovery from Trauma", "Power and Privilege Issues in Training and Supervision", "Supervision is a Relationship". From time-to-time, she also hires other presenters for workshops as well.
Until recently, she was certified by the American Psychological Association as a CE Sponsor. She voluntarily discontinued this certification because it is unnecessary to qualify for continuing education requirements for Kansas psychologists and some other therapists.* (see regulations below) If you are licensed in another state and would like information on possibilities for how to count CE hours provided by Dr. Gilbert, please contact her at barbara@barbarajgilbertphd.com.
Please send email to barbara@barbarajgilbertphd.com to find out what workshops are planned for future months. Upcoming workshops are usually posted here but longer-term planning is not.
In addition, Dr. Gilbert is available for in-house continuing education workshops at your agency. She has provided many workshops-on-request for a variety of agencies on topics similar to those listed above. These workshops can be tailored to your organization. Fees are negotiated based on profit/non-profit status and number of training hours. Please contact Dr. Gilbert directly at 785-760-3952 for more information.
